📄 Description (English)

Fickling is a Python pickling decompiler and static analyzer. Prior to version 0.1.7, Fickling is vulnerable to detection bypass due to "builtins" blindness. This issue has been patched in version 0.1.7.

🤖 AI Executive Summary

Fickling, a Python pickling decompiler and static analyzer, contains a detection bypass vulnerability (CWE-502) in versions prior to 0.1.7 due to 'builtins' blindness. Attackers can craft malicious pickle files that evade security analysis, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution when deserialized. The vulnerability has been patched in version 0.1.7.

🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
1. Immediately upgrade Fickling to version 0.1.7 or later across all Python development and production environments where the tool is deployed for security analysis.
2. Conduct a comprehensive audit of all pickle files processed in the past 90 days to identify potentially malicious payloads that may have bypassed detection, and implement additional validation layers for deserialization operations.
3. Implement defense-in-depth controls including input validation, sandboxing for pickle deserialization, and consider migrating to safer serialization formats like JSON or Protocol Buffers for new applications.
