Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability — Stack-based buffer overflow in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.

تسمح هذه الثغرة الأمنية للمهاجمين بتنفيذ تعليمات برمجية ضارة عن طريق استغلال خلل في معالجة الذاكرة المكدسية في Adobe Reader و Acrobat. يمكن للمهاجم صياغة ملف PDF خبيث وإرساله للضحية عبر البريد الإلكتروني أو استضافته على موقع ويب، وعند فتح الملف يتم تنفيذ الكود الخبيث بصلاحيات المستخدم. تعتبر هذه الثغرة خطيرة جداً نظراً لانتشار استخدام ملفات PDF في بيئات العمل والوجود المؤكد لاستغلالات عملية. رغم قدم الثغرة، إلا أن الأنظمة القديمة غير المحدثة لا تزال عرضة للاستهداف.
