🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
IMMEDIATE ACTIONS:
1. Inventory all systems running Allok Video Splitter 3.1.1217 across the organization
2. Restrict local access to affected systems to trusted users only
3. Disable or remove the software if not critical to operations
4. Implement application whitelisting to prevent unauthorized execution

COMPENSATING CONTROLS:
1. Deploy endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions to monitor for buffer overflow exploitation attempts
2. Implement strict input validation at the application level if source code access available
3. Run affected software in isolated virtual machines with minimal privileges
4. Monitor process execution logs for suspicious activity following License Name field input
5. Restrict user permissions to prevent local privilege escalation post-exploitation

DETECTION RULES:
1. Monitor for processes spawned from Allok Video Splitter with unusual parent-child relationships
2. Alert on any memory access violations or segmentation faults from the application
3. Track file modifications in system directories following application execution
4. Monitor registry modifications if running on Windows systems

ALTERNATIVES:
1. Migrate to actively maintained video splitting solutions (FFmpeg, HandBrake, or commercial alternatives with security updates)
2. Evaluate vendor security posture before selecting replacement software

Windows
