📄 Description (English)

ZOC Terminal 7.25.5 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the private key file input field that allows attackers to crash the application. Attackers can overwrite the private key file input with a 2000-byte buffer, causing the application to become unresponsive when attempting to create SSH key files.

🤖 AI Executive Summary

ZOC Terminal 7.25.5 contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in private key file handling that enables denial of service attacks. An attacker can crash the application by supplying a malformed 2000-byte input to the private key field, rendering SSH functionality unavailable. While no public exploit exists, the vulnerability poses operational risk to organizations relying on ZOC Terminal for secure remote access and SSH key management.

🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
1. IMMEDIATE: Upgrade ZOC Terminal to version 7.25.6 or later immediately
2. VALIDATION: Test SSH key import functionality after patching to ensure proper operation
3. COMPENSATING CONTROLS: Until patching is complete, restrict ZOC Terminal usage to trusted networks and implement network-level monitoring for application crashes
4. DETECTION: Monitor for ZOC Terminal process crashes and implement alerting on abnormal termination events
5. INPUT VALIDATION: If using ZOC Terminal programmatically, implement client-side validation limiting private key input to expected file sizes
6. BACKUP: Maintain offline backups of SSH private keys to prevent loss during application failures
