📄 Description (English)

Cyberfox Web Browser 52.9.1 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows attackers to crash the application by overflowing the search bar with excessive data. Attackers can generate a 9,000,000 byte payload and paste it into the search bar to trigger an application crash.

🤖 AI Executive Summary

CVE-2021-47784 is a denial of service vulnerability in Cyberfox Web Browser 52.9.1 that allows attackers to crash the application by inputting excessive data (9MB payload) into the search bar. While the CVSS score is 7.5, the lack of remote exploitation capability and requirement for user interaction limits immediate threat severity. A patch is available and should be applied to prevent application disruption.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia Impact Assessment
Impact on Saudi organizations is limited due to Cyberfox's minimal market presence in the Kingdom. However, government entities (NCA, NCSC) and research institutions using alternative browsers may be affected. The vulnerability primarily impacts individual users rather than enterprise infrastructure. Banking and financial sectors using standard browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) are not affected. Telecom and energy sectors relying on web-based applications should verify if Cyberfox is deployed in their environments.

🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
1. IMMEDIATE ACTIONS:
- Identify and inventory any Cyberfox 52.9.1 installations across the organization
- Disable Cyberfox if not critical to operations
- Restrict user ability to paste large data volumes into search bars through endpoint controls if feasible

2. PATCHING GUIDANCE:
- Update Cyberfox to version 52.9.2 or later immediately
- Verify patch deployment across all affected systems
- Test functionality post-patch in non-production environment first

3. COMPENSATING CONTROLS:
- Implement application whitelisting to restrict Cyberfox usage
- Deploy endpoint protection with behavioral analysis to detect application crashes
- Monitor for unusual search bar input patterns

4. DETECTION RULES:
- Alert on Cyberfox process crashes or unexpected terminations
- Monitor clipboard operations for payloads exceeding 5MB
- Log search bar input events exceeding 1MB in size

Cyberfox
