📄 Description (English)

SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS firmware versions through 200.1.20 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows remote attackers to perform unlimited login attempts against the management interface. Attackers can conduct online password guessing attacks without account lockout or rate limiting restrictions to gain unauthorized access to the device management interface.

🤖 AI Executive Summary

SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS firmware versions up to 200.1.20 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability (CVE-2026-27753) allowing unlimited login attempts without rate limiting or account lockout. This CWE-307 weakness enables remote attackers to conduct brute-force password guessing attacks against the device management interface. With no patch currently available and no public exploit, organizations must implement immediate compensating controls to mitigate unauthorized access risks.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia Impact Assessment
This vulnerability primarily affects Saudi telecommunications infrastructure (STC, Mobily, Zain), government network operations (NCA, CITC), and enterprise IT environments utilizing SODOLA gateway devices. Banking sector (SAMA-regulated institutions) and critical infrastructure operators (ARAMCO, SEC) face elevated risk if these devices manage network access or VPN gateways. The lack of rate limiting enables credential stuffing and brute-force attacks, potentially compromising network perimeter security and enabling lateral movement into sensitive systems.

🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
IMMEDIATE ACTIONS:
1. Inventory all SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS devices in your environment and document firmware versions
2. Isolate affected devices from untrusted networks or place behind additional authentication layers (VPN, jump hosts)
3. Implement network-level rate limiting using firewall/WAF rules to restrict login attempts (e.g., max 5 attempts per 15 minutes per source IP)
4. Enable comprehensive logging of all authentication attempts and failed logins for forensic analysis
5. Monitor for suspicious login patterns and implement alerting on multiple failed attempts

COMPENSATING CONTROLS:
6. Restrict management interface access to whitelisted IP addresses only
7. Change default credentials immediately and enforce strong password policies (minimum 16 characters, complexity requirements)
8. Disable remote management access if not operationally required; use local console access only
9. Implement multi-factor authentication at network perimeter if device supports it
10. Deploy intrusion detection signatures to detect brute-force attack patterns

PATCHING GUIDANCE:
11. Contact SODOLA for firmware update timeline and security advisory
12. Prepare change management process for firmware updates once available
13. Test patches in isolated lab environment before production deployment

DETECTION RULES:
- Alert on >10 failed login attempts from single source IP within 1 hour
- Monitor for credential spray patterns (multiple usernames from single IP)
- Track successful logins from unusual geographic locations or times
- Log all management interface access with source IP, timestamp, and username
