📄 Description (English)

A vulnerability was detected in UTT HiPER 1250GW up to 3.2.7-210907-180535. This affects the function strcpy of the file /goform/formNatStaticMap. Performing a manipulation of the argument NatBind results in buffer overflow. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit is now public and may be used.

🤖 AI Executive Summary

A critical buffer overflow vulnerability exists in UTT HiPER 1250GW network devices (versions up to 3.2.7-210907-180535) affecting the NAT configuration function. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by manipulating the NatBind parameter through the /goform/formNatStaticMap endpoint. With a CVSS score of 8.8 and public exploit availability, this poses an immediate threat to organizations using these devices, particularly in network infrastructure and gateway deployments.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia Impact Assessment
This vulnerability poses significant risk to Saudi telecommunications infrastructure (STC, Mobily, Zain), government network gateways (NCA, CITC), and banking sector network perimeters (SAMA-regulated institutions). UTT HiPER 1250GW devices are commonly deployed as edge routers and NAT gateways in enterprise networks. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to bypass network security controls, intercept traffic, or establish persistent backdoors within critical infrastructure. Energy sector (ARAMCO, SEC) and healthcare organizations using these devices for network segmentation are also at elevated risk.

🔧 Remediation Steps (English)
IMMEDIATE ACTIONS:
1. Identify all UTT HiPER 1250GW devices in your network using network scanning tools (nmap, Shodan queries for 'UTT HiPER')
2. Isolate affected devices from untrusted networks or place behind additional firewall rules
3. Disable remote management access to the /goform/formNatStaticMap endpoint if not required
4. Monitor device logs for suspicious NAT configuration attempts

COMPENSATING CONTROLS (until patch available):
5. Implement network-level access controls restricting access to device management interfaces (port 80/443) to authorized IPs only
6. Deploy WAF rules blocking requests to /goform/formNatStaticMap with suspicious NatBind parameters
7. Enable device authentication and change default credentials immediately
8. Segment network to limit lateral movement if device is compromised

DETECTION RULES:
- Monitor HTTP POST requests to /goform/formNatStaticMap with NatBind parameter containing special characters or exceeding normal length
- Alert on unexpected process execution or network connections from UTT device management interfaces
- Track firmware version and flag devices running versions ≤3.2.7-210907-180535

PATCHING:
9. Contact UTT vendor for security updates; check for firmware versions >3.2.7-210907-180535
10. Establish vendor communication channel for patch availability timeline
11. Plan device replacement if vendor support is unavailable
